Pulani Press, a new imprint of Modjaji Books, specializes in republishing and distributing selected academic titles originally released by university presses in the global north. Our mission is to make valuable scholarly works on research within the region more accessible and affordable to readers in southern Africa. The imprint launched with two significant titles: The Work of Repair by Thomas Cousins, an ethnographic examination of post-apartheid labour relations in South African timber plantations, and The Politics of Potential by Michelle Pentecost, which explores early life interventions in South Africa.
