Junkets Publisher is a small independent publisher specialising in high-quality, low-cost new South African plays. We publish the Playscript Series of individual plays, and the Collected Series of anthologies of plays. The BaxterJunkets Series publishes the winning play or the Best Script of the annual Zabalaza Theatre Festival. The UJ-Junkets Series is a collaboration with the University of Johannesburg Arts & Culture. In the near future we will inaugurate the Authors Series, collected works covering a single author’s career. GayJunkets publishes queer-interest books in various genres. The first book we published in 2005 was Rebel Angel, a novel based on the life of John Keats. ‘Junkets’ was Leigh Hunt’s nickname for him: ‘Jun Kets’. Our logo is Keats’s autograph.
